Vaccinations
Cats and dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations, including kennel cough (but we do allow dogs who haven't had their kennel cough vaccination, however, if they do unfortunately get that whilst they are here, they won't be covered under our insurance.
Times
Kennels are licensed. We have a minimum stay of 2 days. Our times for drop off/collection are 10am-12pm and/or 4pm-6pm, staff are available from 8am and 3pm. If an earlier drop off/collection is needed they are to ring the kennels and ask.
Food & Medication
We have the health and welfare of your pet our utmost priority, so please give this important instruction clearly in writing, I strongly suggest you write
these out a few days before coming into kennels, as the panic and excitement of going on holiday can lead to errors. Or if your husband/wife or a third party
is delivering your pet, they might not know.
We charge £2 per injection which is to be paid when dropping off your dog/cats.
We stock most varieties of food (wet, dry and raw) (but we do not stock raw food for cats), however if they want something specific, they are more than welcome
to bring their own food.
Contact and Emergency Numbers
We require full details of our customers, (full name, address, phone number and email). We also require emergency contact info for someone who is available if we
have an emergency.
Write them with the food and medication details. We do prefer a landline contact, in case mobiles get stolen, broken or lost, you may have a flat battery or no signal.
The emergency person should be a relation or friend; if it is a third-party person who we keep in contact with in case of serious illness. Those with older pets please make
sure your emergency contact knows your final care wishes or we are happy to keep these wishes on file, to save any upset each time you go away.
Consent forms
Consent forms are a requirement, these are necessary especially if we need to take your dog/cat to the vets, as the vets will not treat until we have written consent from the owner.
Vets
Wherever possible we will use your own vet, who will have your pet’s full medical history. However, if your vet is too far away, I will use Castle Vets who are 5 minutes away along the A287 from the kennels. Please note existing medical conditions/injuries/illness are excluded from the kennels insurance.
Choke Chains/Collars
Let us know if your pets collar needs to be removed whilst in the kennels - staff have the right to decide whether a collar should be removed whilst they are in our care.
Cat Baskets
Please ensure your cat basket can be securely fastened, so that your cat cannot escape from it. In the event of evacuation (because of fire or other emergency) your cat will be removed from the cattery, taken to a secure area and left in their basket during the emergency. Also, the basket is clearly marked with cat's name, owners name and address, this is part of our licence conditions.
Bedding & Toys
With permanent marker name your bedding & toys. Remember they can be chewed to pieces, so ensure you have given us anything that can get stuck in the gut. These can be brought but must be clearly labled, and at their own risk. We have a large supply of ridged plastic beds, and bedding.
Identification
We will keep on file a description of your pet and microchip details. If you have a photo you could let us have that would be really helpful. These details are kept in case of loss or theft. We have never had to deal with this problem to date, but it is now a requirement of our licence conditions.
